AYURVEDIC TREATMENTS IN AUCKLAND & ONLINE

At Ayurveda NZ we work with Ayurvedic Medicine, which recognises many causes of disease but stresses the root cause of most chronic conditions arise from imbalances in, or poor functioning of, the digestive system. Undigested food and improper elimination of wastes accumulate as toxins in the body leading to dysfunctions. This is further compounded by unresolved emotional experiences and stress. Whether a person is chronically ill or seeking a way to maintain good health Ayurveda has an important role to play.

According to Ayurveda, digestion is a subtle process that transforms food into consciousness.

Respiratory Health

New Zealand has the second highest prevalence of asthma in the world (after the UK) and asthma is the most common cause of admission to hospital for children. (NZ Asthma Foundation). Ayurveda and Yoga Therapy supports respiratory health via dietary advice and practices such as breathing techniques and herbal support. Specific treatments are available for cough and colds, sore throat, sinusitis, hayfever and bronchitis.

Lifestyle Conditions

Excess intake of alcohol and drugs, poor eating habits, smoking, excessive or insufficient exercise, working too hard, financial stress are factors that contribute significantly to the development of lifestyle diseases. Ultimately this is manifested in modern ailments such as obesity, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, insomnia, or chronic fatigue. Ayurveda NZ understands that wholesome diet and lifestyle practices play a vital role in managing stress and maintaining good health. By taking an individually tailored approach, Ayurveda can not only prevent but also treat many conditions caused by unhealthy lifestyle practices.

Women's Health

We believe that the health of women is pivotal to the health of a society. When we strengthen the health and spiritual power of women we also strengthen the health and wisdom of the men, children and communities around us. By assisting women to reconnect with their natural female rhythms, Ayurveda offers a deeper understanding of how the reproductive system functions. Ayurvedic practices and treatments empower women to heal conditions such as painful periods, PMS, irregular cycles, hormonal acne or sub-fertility, menopause, dysmenorrhoea, endometriosis, PCOS and fibroids.

Children's Health

By analyzing the constitution of the child Ayurveda suggests simple but effective tools to keep kids healthy and happy. The practice of Yoga can help children to maintain a strong and supple body. All kids can benefit from Yoga Therapy immensely by developing a physical and mental discipline that improve attention and concentration as well as stimulating creativity.

Mental Health

Ayurvedic psychology regards the mind as a reflection of the body and the storehouse of experiences. Ayurveda teaches harmony with nature, simplicity and contentment as key to mental wellbeing. Ayurvedic counselling, nourishing treatments of the nervous system, herbs and dietary methods are applied for healing the mind. Whether taking medication or not Ayurveda can play a supportive role and aid the healing process of people suffering from depression, anxiety or other mental disturbances.

Auto-immune Conditions

In the West autoimmune conditions are still not well understood and allopathic approaches are very generic and managed by medications. In contrast the concept of autoimmune conditions is long understood in Ayurveda. Panchakarma is the most recommended treatment approach. It aims at eliminating the root cause and re-establishing a healthy functioning immune system. Disorders such as multiples sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, thyroid conditions or type 1 diabetes can be treated.
